Firm Principals & Philosophy
Firm Guiding Principals
Lenger Asset Management is guided by three principal areas; investment management, fiduciary oversight and service. We have broadly outlined these principals below.
Investment Management
We are an investment management company, as such; our primary focus is on achieving the highest risk adjusted return possible in the most efficient frame work possible. This is our fore most guiding principal and is applied to the entire investment management relationship.
Fiduciary Relationship & Duty
Our second guiding principal is the obligation as a Registered Investment Advisor to act as a Fiduciary. In a fiduciary relation one person justifiably reposes confidence, good faith, reliance and trust in another whose aid, advice or protection is sought in some matter. In such a relation good conscience requires one to act at all times for the sole benefit and interests of another, with loyalty to those interests. A fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care at either equity or law. A fiduciary is expected to be extremely loyal to the person to whom he owes the duty (the "principal"): he must not put his personal interests before the duty, and must not profit from his position as a fiduciary, unless the principal consents.
Service
Service is our last guiding principal. We have synthesized this down to being engaged and responsive to our clients request and circumstances. We believe service is an integral part of building and maintaining strong client relationships. (Building Relationships)
Firm Philosophy
Lenger Asset Management’s philosophy has been crafted around our three guiding principles of investment management, fiduciary oversight and service. Given these high standards and responsibilities, we have developed a philosophy which enables us to construct a frame work on how to develop and manage client relationships.
Our Definitions of Financial Independence
Basic Independence It is our belief that all clients should work toward achieving a basic financial independence. We define basic financial independence as an income stream not produced by direct labor which is able to support the basic life needs of food, shelter, transportation and health care.
Lifestyle Independence It is our desire to aid all clients in obtaining an income stream that maintains the client’s lifestyle vision. Discovering the level of income and the means to support it are an integral part of building a relationship between Lenger Asset Management and the client (Building Relationships).
Estate Management For those clients that have an established capital base and income stream generating capital above that used to maintain their lifestyle Lenger Asset Management brings the knowledge and structure to help compliment or re-structure the management of their current capital solution.
Client Types
With the above tenet laid out, we run into two types of clients. Those who can and cannot achieve our definition of basic financial independence. We further segregate clients which can achieve financial independence into four main categories. All five categories are further defined in the following sections listed below.
